This year’s Buffalo Bill Days celebration marks its 25th year!

Why is it called Buffalo Bill Days?   In 1900, the first of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Shows was performed in Lanesboro, comprised of 6 Indians (2 Indian maidens), 2 white men (Buffalo Bill and White Beaver) and a Mr. Man.

The annual celebration held the first weekend in August includes a firefighters’ street dance that “Trouble Shooter” plays at, softball tournaments, volleyball tournaments, kids games, petting zoo and pony rides, a “Memory Brothers” dance at the golf course, a public dance at the beer/brat tent with “Stone Halo” playing, fireworks, plays at the Commonweal Theater, a grand parade and much, much more!

This year the Buffalo Bill Day Committee would like to honor our local volunteer fire fighters, since 2009 marks their 125th year of serving the City of Lanesboro, City of Whalan and surrounding rural area.

The City would like to thank the volunteers on the Buffalo Bill Day Committee for all they do to make this event such a successful, fun weekend for all!
