The City of Lanesboro has a two person staff that is shared with the Lanesboro Public Utilities.

In 2003, the Council appointed Bobbie Jo Vickerman as the City Administrator/Clerk. Bobbie is responsible for all administrative duties of the City and Public Utilities and she is directly supervised by the Council and the Public Utilities Commission. She is also responsible for the following for both the City and the Utilities Commission: preparing the yearly budget and levy and implementing it throughout the year, preparing financial statements, administering elections, reconciling cash, supervising employees, setting up agendas for all meetings, organizing and distributing the work load, working with the public, and overseeing short and long term goals of the City.

Rita Peterson was hired in 1999 as the Deputy Clerk. Rita is directly supervised by the administrator/clerk and her duties are as follows: taking minutes for City Council meetings, Utility billing, scheduling rooms for the Community Center, entering accounts payable, entering payroll data, and assisting the administrator with various other types of functions. The City/Utility Office is open as follows:
Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.and 12:30 - 3:30 p.m.
