The Lanesboro Public Library employs three regular staff persons (1.46 FTE's). Regular volunteers also assist in day-to-day operations.

The library director is directly responsible for all budgetary and financial matters and for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the library. The director is also responsible for all material ordering, programming, equipment, and organization. S/he supervises a part-time staff of two plus all volunteers for the library. S/he is directly involved in all communications between the City of Lanesboro, Library Board, SELCO, and other groups associated with the library, such as the Friends of the Library.

Part-time employees Elizabeth Anderson and Laura Gudmundson assist with the day-to-day operations of the library. In addition, Doris O'Dell volunteers several hours per week processing materials, and several students from Lanesboro help keep shelving clean and tidy.
