PLANNING AND ZONING

Planning a project?  Need to replace windows, sidewalk, deck, fencing, a new roof?  Did you know that any project on the exterior of a property requires a Building Permit.  Simply fill out and submit the permit, along with any applicable fees to the City Office.  The permit will then be reviewed by the City Administrator, Planning & Zoning, and Historic Preservation as necessary.

Permit fees are based on the total cost of the project as follows:

Cost of Project Permit Fee
Up to $500 $10
$501 to $3,000 $20
$3,001 to $10,000 $50
$10,000 to $30,000 $100
Over $30,000 $200

Building Permit Application

Thinking of operating a business out of your home?  There is a permit required to do so.  The home occupation application must be filled out and returned to the City Office along with the fee of $100.  The application will then be reviewed by Planning & Zoning, as well as the City Council.

The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of five volunteers. This Commission meets regularly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m., any Special Meetings or changes to the regular meeting scheduled will be noted on the City calendar.  The Planning & Zoning Commission meets in the Lanesboro Community Memorial Center Chamber Room.
