Public Utilities Meeting Called to Order:
Evenson called regular meeting to order.

Agenda:
Motion made by Drake to approve agenda, adding payment for Commissioner’s salary, second Schuck, motion carried.

Minutes:
Schuck made motion to approve both sets of minutes as read, second Drake, motion carried for both sets of minutes.

PERSON’S WITH BUSINESS BEFORE THE COMMISSION:

HOUSEKEEPING:
A. Bills
Drake made motion to approve and pay bills as presented, second Schuck, motion carried.
B. Administrator’s Report
Torgerson presented financials and updated bank balances. Doing well at this time, need to continue to be conservative. Evenson made motion to pay the City $50,000 for money owed to them, second Schuck, motion carried. Torgerson will give an update as what is owed to the City after this payment.
C. Past Due Utility Bills
Explained that the starred persons were given a final cut off on July 24th at 9:00am.
D. UMMPA/Electric
Evenson made motion to recommend Jerod Wagner on behalf of the Lanesboro Public Utilities to vote in favor of the UMMPA group to seek out RFPs for energy supply, second Schuck, motion carried.
E. Non-resident Utilities
Discussed inviting all non-resident utility holders to attend the August meeting to discuss this. Schuck made motion to call a public hearing before next meeting with letters going out to all non-residents stating what the proposal is for non-resident utilities fees, second Drake, motion carried.
F. Electric Rates
Move to next meeting due to information from UMMPA meeting.
G. Commonweal Theatre
Eric Bunge has requested information on the main break and hook up fees. New water service, new sewer service, and update to transformer. This would be $750.00 per utility for a total of $2250.00. All other bills, besides the hook ups will be what the Commonweal will be expected to pay.
H. Commissioner Pay
Drake made motion for Utility Commission to pay Jerry Evenson his commissioner salary for 2006 with the next payroll, if Evenson decides to leave the Commission prior to 12-31-06 will need to pay back Utilities at prorated amount, second Schuck, motion carried with Evenson abstained from voting due to conflict of interest.

I. Water Wheel Information
Jim reported on the water wheel 103,704 KW green power hydro-wheel saved anywhere for $5,000-8,000.

At 7:34pm, Drake made motion to adjourn, second by Schuck, motion carried.
