The Lanesboro Public Utilities employs two full-time persons for maintenance and upkeep of all of the Utilities. It shares costs associated for office staff with the City.

Jim Peterson is the Utility Supervisor and has been working for the Lanesboro Public Utilities since 1986! He is responsible for all day to day maintenance, operations of the various utilities and he is responsible for all paperwork and documentation required by the various entities such as DNR, MPCA, US Department of Energy, MMUA, DPC, etc. Jim is required to have the knowledge and present day information to keep all utilities functioning at proper levels and also fulfilling all environmental regulations concerning each utility.

Jerod Wagner has worked for the Lanesboro Public Utilities since 1995 as a Utilities Operator. Jerod works directly with the maintenance and day to day operations of the utilities also. He has also been working with the updating of the Utilities’ policies and procedures and ordinances that relate to the utilities. The Lanesboro Public Utilities is very fortunate to have such knowledgeable and experienced staff, who care about their positions and obviously care about the Utilities and City as a whole. There participation in other organizations shows their community spirit! Jim is the Lanesboro Fire Department’s Fire Chief and a member of the Lanesboro Ambulance Department. Jerod is an active member on the Lanesboro Volunteer Fire Department!
